Welcome
Welcome to DisabilityInformation.Com Online, the website dedicated to the Disabled Peoples' Movement in the United Kingdom. Inspired by the work of the United Kingdom's organisations of Disabled People, the umbrella organisation British Council of Disabled People and the international body Disabled Peoples' International, this site aims to be the best resource for anyone looking for useful information on disability in the UK today.

Other features include information on holidays, leisure, social security benefits, legislation and official guidelines, while our regularly updated Events section will help you plan your diary over the next few months - special days listing exhibitions, and other events of interest to disabled people.

The information on this site is a combination of work by BCODP and other people in the Disabled People's Movement. These ideas come from the collective struggles of disabled people. We acknowledge our debt to the disabled activists and academics who first developed the social model of disability (link to a page), and to those who continue to develop our understanding of disability as a social creation. It is this understanding that enables us to fight for our civil rights.
We hope that you will find this site easy to navigate and use. If you have any comments about the website, please let us know.
